Time To Let Go

For years I was anxious about giving anyone in my professional life even a glimpse of my personal life. I always felt that I needed to be judged on what I could do in business solely without anyone getting to know me. I did not trust people enough to see past any struggles I had. I presumed people would focus on a person’s physical appearance rather than see their skills and abilities. I was wrong, so wrong.

This past year has made us all realise that at the end of the day we are all human, take away all our shields and we are all the same. Money, fame, or anything else that anyone had means nothing in today’s world, it cannot change what’s happening and it certainly can’t save us should we catch the virus and it makes us very poorly. We are all equal, we are all dealing with this.

It is time for us all to let go of our shields and breath. Those shields we carry are heavy and they stop us achieving what we want to achieve. There is only one of you and you are amazing. We need to have more faith in our own abilities and the abilities of others to see us the way we see ourselves, strong people who just so happen to run brilliant businesses.

Since I made the decision to let go and just be me, I have felt a huge wave of positive energy. Yes, I have lost people, I have had pain but that’s not what I’m talking about. I feel free from putting up walls, I can be me and I no longer carry that heavy shield. Clients have responded positively, and work has been more excellent than ever.

I urge fellow business owners to do the same. Reach out to your clients or anyone you do business with and just be you. You will build better business relationships than you have ever built before.
